Steady electricity in campus bring conducive weather to learning environment

The steady electricity in the campus of University of maiduguri provide conducive environment to the reading venue, lectures hall, street and hostels which brings positive impact to students academically

In an interview with Hauwa Sale Maijinda, a student from the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, shared her positive experience with the current administration of the University of maiduguri (Unimaid) Vice chancellor Muhammad Laminu Mele.

She highlighted that the learning environment has significantly improved, allowing students to attend lectures without feeling overwhelmed by heat or insufficient seating.

The administration's efforts to renovate lecture halls have paid off, with all chairs, fans, and sockets are currently functioning.

Maijinda explained that, the stark contrast to the previous situation, where broken chairs and the hot weather made it challenging for students to focus during lectures, sometimes forcing them to seek shade outside or struggle to understand their readings due to the uncomfortable conditions.

She expressed that, with the improved environment, students can now study for extended periods without feeling fatigued and during this exam periods, the conducive atmosphere in classes, complete with working lights and fans, enables students to prepare effectively and a lot students usually charge phones and laptops in class while reading, unlike last session that students take their phones to charge at commercial before coming to class.

Hauwa expressed her excitement about the administration's efforts and hopes that they will continue to prioritize academic needs, such as extending light hours into the night to facilitate better study conditions for students preparing for exams.

She believes that with continued effort, the school can further enhance its academic environment.

According to Isah Adam Gambo from department of LLB & SHARI’AH expressed that, It is clear to all UNIMAID students the remarkable changes that the Vice-Chancellor has brought to the university.

He said that, One major impact is the creation of a more conducive environment for studying, supported by the availability of essential facilities such as water, lighting, fans, and air conditioners are basic necessities that directly enhance students’ academic performance.

Gambo explained that , the improvement of security,stable electricity ensures that street lights and lighting inside halls remain functional, providing students, especially female students, with a greater sense of safety and courage while moving around the campus during the night.

Moreover he expressed that, his heart is full of joy at the arrival of stable electricity, For so long, we struggled with unstable availability of light and disruptions, but now, a new era has begun, It is truly a dream come true a future filled with light, hope, and endless possibilities.

Gambo expressed that, he have nothing more important than to express the sincere gratitude to the generous leader, they're truly proud of his achievements and capacity, and he pray that they may continue to witness even greater successes and advancements in the academic growth of the institution.
